Infancy- Preschool

  • This booklet includes activities for families with children from infancy through age 5. Most of the activities make learning experiences out of the everyday routines in which you and your child already participate. Most use materials that are found in your home or that can be had free of charge from your local library. The activities are designed to be fun for both you and your child as well as to help your child gain the skills needed to get ready for school. Enjoy them! Click here to download the booklet.

  • Jumpstart - In preschool, the most important type of learning happens through play. JumpStart’s fun preschool resources gives parents and teachers plenty of ideas on how to teach youngsters important skills through fun games and activities. Visit jumpstart for a large variety of worksheets, games, and activities.

Middle School

  • Reading aloud is also a way to differentiate. The common texts allow all students to share a foundation from which they can build upon with their own experience and ideas. Each year I have a few students that come to loathe reading and writing. Many times it is due to low reading skills, but not always. Find out more about why your child should read aloud here.

  • Survival Guide to Middle School -- get weekly tips submitted by other students on how to get through the tough days.

Elementary
